The robust, commercial grain mill MT 18 has proven itself in commercial use for 4 decades now.
In contrast to the “normal” Salzburger Grain Mill MT 18, which is suitable for the quick demand of a few kilos of flour in hotels, restaurants, organic shops etc., the Salzburger Grain Mill MT 18 D is equipped with a motor for continuous operation over several hours.

This special mill is therefore able to cover the flour requirement of approx. 50 – 70 kg per day without any problems.

Our open and honest statement about the operating time and performance of the mill in one pass:

The maximum operating time of the engine cannot be exactly defined by us, as it depends on various factors:

From the fineness of the desired flour: The finer – the less ejection.

From the moisture in the grain: Moist grain creates condensation in the milling chamber and can cause clumping of the flour. This can lead to a high temperature rise and as a result the outlet can also become blocked.

The hardness of the grain (corn is much harder than e.g. wheat or spelt) also influences the heating of the flour at the outlet and can clog it.

Conclusion: Dry, healthily stored grain enables the grinding of finest flour with the lowest possible heating.

The granite millstone we use grinds powdery fine flour for the finest bakeries.
Especially appreciated by master bakers is the fact that a breaking out of stone particles and unpleasant stone grit in the flour (as far as we know so far) does not occur.
Your guests and customers can thus bite safely and heartily!

What is important for commercial use: simplicity and durability!

The robust, almost indestructible stainless steel thread guarantees a mm-exact infinitely variable adjustment of the flour fineness over decades. The fineness can also be adjusted during grinding without switching off the motor.

Through 380 Volt industrial motor the tissue mill MT 18 D is able to grind convincingly fine flour over several hours. This motor is dimensioned so that it can even be switched on and off during grinding, even with very hard grain such as corn.

We manufacture the grinding chamber in wood out of conviction. Unlike most plastics, wood is known to be antistatic and antibacterial.
Our grinding chamber is therefore guaranteed BPA-free.

Cleaning of the grinding chamber: Due to the simple design, the grinding chamber can be opened without any tools. The funnel is turned off and the inside of the mill can be cleaned with a brush or vacuum cleaner.

The funnel of the mill is turned from hard beech wood. The housing for the engine is made of moulded beech wood and all wooden parts are treated on the outside only with organic beeswax oil.
