Raisin bread with wholemeal flour

Raisin bread with wholemeal flour

Hello and good morning (:

It’s me again, Berti! Not very long ago I have shared with you the recipe of my vegan pumpkin bread. Maybe you have even baked that pumpkin bread already yourself? I think it is so delicious and very succulent as well!
Today I would like to tell you about another delicacy: I discovered a recipe for a raisin bread. I really love baking a lot (as you may have already discovered) and I have to say that this raisin bread was easy to make and so delicious at the same time.

  • 850 g wholemeal flour (here it would be best to take wheat wholemeal flour; if you already have a Salzburg grain mill, grind the flour fresh for the raisin bread)
  • 80 g dry yeast
  • 300 g chopped nuts (hazelnuts or almonds)Raisin bread with wholemeal flour
  • 200 g raisins
  • a pinch of salt
  • 500 ml water
  • 200 ml buttermilk

Put all the ingredients together and knead into a dough. Maybe you have to add some water or flour to get a perfect consistency of the dough.

Then let the dough rest for at least half an hour. Knead again and form the dough into 3 medium-sized buns or into one large bread. Then put some milk on top of the raisin bread and put it in the oven. Bake the bread at 250 °C for 30 minutes.

Mmmh – I ate the raisin bread with some jam! My breakfast was sooo good and delicious and almost perfect!

So for anyone who wants a good raisin bread for breakfast, do not hesitate to try the recipe! And of course you can also let me know how your baking went.

All the best, your Berti
