The leaves on the trees and bushes are starting to change color slowly, the sun is setting earlier and the temperatures are dropping – autumn is here. In the colder season the team of the Salzburg Grain Mills would like to start the day full of vitality and energy. Time-saving and yet very wholesome is our latest breakfast recipe. With nutrient-rich oats and seasonal fruit, this simple autumn breakfast is convincing us every morning right now. But see for yourself…
Easy to prepare autumn breakfast: the ingredients
- 100 g oat flakes (freshly flaked with your Salzburg Master Flaker)
- water (boiled)
- nuts (for example walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds)
- flaxseeds or chia seeds (coarsely ground)

First, pour hot water over the oats in a bowl and let it soak briefly. Meanwhile, wash and cut fruit as desired. At the moment we enjoy especially the plums and berries, which still grow in Austria. As for nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds are our favorites right now. In the breakfast bowl we now put all the ingredients according to any quantity – in the morning some are hungrier, some a little less. The whole thing is topped with flax or chia seeds and cinnamon.
This autumn breakfast is easy and quick to prepare and wholesome. With it we can start the day with a lot of strength and power.
