A bread that soft and juicy inside is and on the outside a crispy crust has – exactly one of them is the whole-grain carrot bread for which we are presenting the recipe today. The great thing is that it tastes really good and can be prepared very quickly and easily.
And such a delicious whole grain carrot bread is not only suitable for breakfast or as a snack in the evening, but also as a snack between or to take away. You can both cute (for example with nut butter or jam), as well as spicy Eat and enjoy (for example with homemade spreads made from beans or chickpeas).
And it’s not just the carrots and sunflower seeds that provide the body with important vitamins, minerals and secondary plant substances. - 500 g wholemeal flour (freshly grind organic spelled and / or organic wheat with your Salzburg grain mill)
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1-2 tsp Bread spice
- 1 pack of dry yeast (optionally with fresh yeast, of course)
- 60 g sunflower seeds
- 200 g carrots
- 300-350 ml of water
- Topping: sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.
Delicious whole grain carrot bread: preparation
First wash and roughly grate the carrots *. Then wholemeal flour, salt, bread spices, sunflower seeds and the dry yeast are mixed together, then the grated carrots are folded in. Then the water is added, which is mixed with the remaining ingredients to form a dough. This should now go at least half an hour.
While the oven is preheating to 200°C convection, place the dough in a slightly oiled loaf pan (about 25 cm long), where it can rise for a few more minutes and sprinkle with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or similar.
The whole grain carrot bread is now at 200 ° C for 30 minutes and then on at 150 ° C for 10 minutes baked.
Take the bread out of the oven, let it cool down and enjoy!
